Old Man Luedecke and Teresa Ennis added to the SuperShow bill to open the 25th Multicultural Festival

Nova Scotia artists Old Man Luedecke and Teresa Ennis have just been added to the line-up for the SuperShow on Friday, June 26 at Alderney Landing which serves as the kick-off for the 25th RBC Multicultural Festival on the Dartmouth waterfront. The two new additions will add a roots acoustic based flavour to the SuperShow.

Also on the bill are: Grammy Award-winner Paula Cole ("Where Have All the Cowboys Gone" and the "Dawson's Creek" TV theme "I Don’t Want to Wait"), Juno Award-winning rock/R&B singer Divine Brown (“Lay It On the Line”, “Meet Me at the Roxy”, “Sunglasses”) and Juno-winning pop singer Sarah Slean (“Lucky Me”, “Get Home”). Halifax- based pop/rock trio MIR (“Invisible Science”. “So Perfect”, “What Goes Around Comes Around”) are the musical hosts.

The show will also feature a variety of local musicians in supporting musical roles as well as members of Symphony Nova Scotia. It is a one of a kind show and not to be missed!

During a summer that is busy with large shows as well as the hefty ticket prices that go with them, this event is a great family value!

Advance tickets for Friday’s SuperShow 2009 are available for only $32 (plus applicable taxes & fees) from www.ticketatlantic.com and local Atlantic SuperStores or just $40 at the door. Ticket price includes admission for one adult ticket and one child under 12 free!

Admission also includes access to all Festival events and activities (food, drink, displays and more music) throughout the entire weekend. Grounds open at 4PM (including the International Food Pavilion) and the show starts at 8PM.

Pop Stars Cole, Slean and Brown to Kick Off 25th Multicultural Festival

A trio of Grammy and Juno Award-winning performers will lead off the 25th RBC Multicultural Festival on the Dartmouth waterfront the weekend of June 26.

Decca Recording artist and Grammy-winner Paula Cole ("Where Have All the Cowboys Gone" and the "Dawson's Creek" TV theme "I Don’t Want to Wait") headlines SuperShow 2009, which opens the Festival on Friday night, marking her first-ever performance in Atlantic Canada. She’s joined by Juno Award-winning rock/R&B singer Divine Brown (“Lay It On the Line”, “Meet Me at the Roxy”, “Sunglasses”), who’s 2008 Warner Music CD ‘The Love Chronicles’ garnered rave reviews, hot sales and ongoing radio play everywhere.

Also onstage that night is Juno-winning pop singer Sarah Slean (“Lucky Me”, “Get Home”), whose 2008 Warner Music CD ‘The Baroness’ kicked off an ongoing series of concerts and touring, including her current nation-wide Recession-Ista tour.

As with all previous SuperShows, Halifax- based pop/rock trio MIR (“Invisible Science”. “So Perfect”, “What Goes Around Comes Around”) are the musical hosts. Their January CD “OK2GO!’ is selling across the country and will soon be released in Europe as well.

The SuperShow leads off the weekend-long 25th Anniversary RBC Multicultural Festival, the largest event of its kind in Eastern Canada. It’s a combination of live music and dance performances on three stages, a food pavilion with culinary treats from around the world and a cultural pavilion with displays and events by cultural groups across Nova Scotia. This year, performers from across Canada, the US, Brazil, Panama, India and Armenia will appear onstage, and a number of special surprises are planned, including many family and childrens’ activities.

All events are at Alderney Landing on the Dartmouth waterfront, just a few steps away from the Dartmouth Ferry Terminal.
